Online fraud in Pune: Several investors tricked out of Rs 12 Crore by scammers through fake poultry company website, YouTube channel

Pune, April 21: Another case of fraud has come to light in which online scammers allegedly duped several investors out of over Rs 12 crore into creating a fake website and YouTube channel using the name and logo of a prominent poultry company.

Indian Express According to the cited police, this year a fraudulent website and YouTube channel was launched by scammers using the name, logo and photographs of the owners of a major poultry company.

They called on people to invest money in the business and assured them of lucrative financial returns every week.

Police Inspector Vijay Khomne, the investigator, said: “After realizing it was a fraudulent deal, the company contacted the police and filed an FIR. We have reserved the defendant associated with the fraudulent website and YouTube channel under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Information Technology Act. So far, it is known that a fraud of around Rs 12 crore has taken place.
