SHERBURN — There will be a steak and fries dinner from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Sherburn Legion. On the menu, they will have rib eye, shrimp or smoked pork chop, with a salad bar and a baked potato. Sounds delicious, so celebrate June at the Sherburn Legion on Saturday night.

The Sherburn Theater will screen the film “Jurassic World: Dominion” this weekend. Show times are 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 4 p.m. Sunday. Buy locally.

Your family may need a night at the movies to rest from the city-wide street markets June 9-11. Discover all the goodies this week and this weekend.

There will be a coffee hour from 8:30 to 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 14 and every Tuesday in June at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sherburn. Join your friends and neighbors for great coffee and great camaraderie.

Coffee hours on Tuesdays in July are scheduled at the Sherburn Regional Worship Center. Every Thursday there is a coffee hour in Ceylon. Coffee lovers are in luck.

The Sherburn Legion will meet Tuesday evening at 8 p.m. at Sherburn Legion Hall. All members are invited to attend.

Condolences to the families of Luella (Elly) Wallace, Sharon McNicol, Dorothy Dunker and Janice Nelson. We will all miss them.

The sundaes at the Park started in Trimont at 6 p.m. on Sunday.

The Sherburn Festival and all-class meeting at Sherburn High School will take place on June 18. Plan to attend the many events this weekend. The parade will begin at 11 a.m. (note the new time) and will be extended by two blocks. Some classes have parade floats. Contact Nate Klima at (507) 236-5635 about Class Tanks. The Sherburn High School Facebook post will also be informative. Before the parade, there will be coffee and rolls for reunion attendees on the east side of the Welcome House and there will be tents in the park for classes to visit old school buddies. Lots of action at the park that day. There is also a dance and a chicken meal on June 17 at the Sherburn Fire Station on the north side of town. Plan to attend the fun time in Sherburn next weekend.

MCW Community Education and Recreation has many offers for adults, children and special adults throughout the summer and some in the fall. Find out about the many classes in the CER newsletter. There will be a Relay For Life to help the American Cancer Society from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, June 25 at the Martin County Fairgrounds in Fairmont. The theme “Celebrate, Remember and Fight Back” says it all.
