On January 8 last year, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh launched this website for the online sale of “AFD-1” class items such as washing machines, microwave ovens, refrigerators, air conditioners, televisions and laptops.

The ministry statement said: “In the past year, 81,046 cars, 48,794 two-wheelers and 9,702 other goods (category AFD-1) amounting to Rs 6,185 crore were sold through the portal.”

To celebrate the first anniversary of the portal’s success, receptions were held on Friday in all CSD depots, he said.

The AFD-1 category also includes items such as air purifiers, dishwashers, home theaters, and cell phones.

The personnel of the armed forces and the ex-combatants use the canteens of the CSD.

According to the dealership body’s report, the total number of vehicle registrations at regional transport offices (RTOs), which are sales agents, fell 16% to 15,58,756 units from December of l ‘last year.

The auto industry continued to remain a big mixed bag for the last month of 2021. While demand was seen for automakers, two-wheelers and tractors remained in the red. Commercial vehicle shipments to dealerships go green.
